So I am going to start this post talking about myself, LOL. So I photograph a lot of weddings in the Richmond Virginia area, as well as Virginia Beach and Northern Virginia. So why did I drive six hours to New Jersey for this wedding at Rutherfurd Hall? Because of TWO AWESOME PEOPLE. And it was worth every second of the trip, and then some. I had a wonderful time getting there the night before, and was able to wake up, hit the gym, even went on a run on a jogging trail, had a great breakfast at the hotel, hit the gym again, and drove a few minutes over to the venue, Rutherfurd Hall. WOW. What a gorgeous place! And it was a beautiful day…overcast to keep everyone from squinting, and nice cool temperatures (although being from Virginia, it felt AMAZING, but to everyone else there, it felt pretty hot LOL).
There were so many wonderful things about this wedding… the wonderful family and friends that made me feel like I was ‘part of the crew’, amazing food (the carved roast was like butter), delicious desserts (chocolate covered strawberries were my favorite LOL), great music, fun dancing, and many heartfelt moments. There was a special Skype call from a grandparent that had people in tears, and one of the speeches had me pretty choked up. And the PEOPLE! Everyone looked stunning, had the best time dancing, and it was fantastic to spend the evening with them :) Just look at all these smiles (I especially love all the bride and groom smiles).
And major thanks to everyone who stayed on the dance floor, sang to all the songs, and just kept the party vibe going, it was so much fun, hour after hour, even as it got chillier and the rain started up. I hope everyone got home safely (p.s. the ‘shuttle bus’ being a school bus was SO COOL).
I loved the bouquets Meg made, the wedding dress was gorgeous (as were all the bridesmaid dresses), and hair/makeup was ON POINT. The decorations were gorgeous, and special thanks to the venue staff for being so attentive to the windy conditions LOL. Every single guest was wonderful and beautiful, and incredibly courteous and welcoming to me. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that. I was treated so well! I don’t show it very much, but it really means a lot to me, when the parents come up to me and want to make sure that I’m having a good time, that I’ve had something to eat, etc. Just some wonderful, wonderful people.
I hope you enjoy the wedding photography… there were sooo many favorites, that this is one of the largest sneak peeks I’ve done for a wedding, especially considering I just woke up and finished backing up all the images and importing them LOL. But when you have two people as special as Chris and Meg, it feels exciting to go through all the photos and start the editing process! There are hundreds and hundreds more photos like these, but I just post a few dozen at first as a ‘sneak peek.’ If you don’t see a photo of yourself in the sneak peek below, it’s in the other several hundred photos still to come :)
Please join me in congratulating Meg and Chris :) And share this sneak peek link with others!
EDITED TO ADD: Can we also please get a shoutout for teachers everywhere? I <3 teachers! #Respect
